As the National League moves into the final few weeks of the main season, there is a massive Bank Holiday meeting for the Mildenhall Fen Tigers, proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery, as second faces third at Central Park Sittingbourne (Monday 4pm start).

The Kent Kings currently sit in second place five points ahead of the Fen Tigers in  third, but having ridden three more meetings. The Fen Tigers are only one point ahead of sixth placed Isle of Wight so Monday’s meeting is one they need to bring something back from. They travel with a full septet whilst Kent welcome back Rob Ledwith, although his return is tempered by the loss of ex-Fen Tiger Jordan Jenkins who has decided to sit out the remainder of the season, the Kings operating rider replacement for Jenkins.

Before Monday’s meeting though, there is the small matter of the National League Best Pairs event at Sheffield on Sunday afternoon (5pm start) with the Fen Tigers represented by Ryan Kinsley and Jason Edwards. The Fen Tigers pairing will be looking to qualify from their group and put on a big show to match the clubs performance at Stoke earlier in the season in the National League Four Team tournament.

Team Manager Malcolm Vasey was keen to emphasize the importance of Monday’s meeting – he said “Our recent home performances have seen us climb the league into a much stronger position but with two home meetings left and four away we do need to pick up a couple of away points as well as win our home meetings to secure a place in the play-offs with somewhere around 26 points looking the marker.

There is no better place to start than Kent on Monday, we have riders who go well there and if everyone is on their game, we can come away with something from the trip. Ryan has fitted in immediately and although we will miss Danny, his eighteen point maximum at Kent in the National Trophy was sensational, Ryan is no slouch at Kent recording double figure scores on each of his three visits last season”
