The Mildenhall Fen Tigers proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery raced to a convincing victory against a Poultec select side in the Suffolk sunshine this afternoon.
Twelve heat winners suggest’s a one sided affair but there was plenty of exciting racing to entertain a good crowd basking in the heat of the afternoon. Captain Danny 8Y7R3TAyres raced to an impeccable five ride maximum, but it was down at reserve where Macauley Leek and 15 year old Elliot Kelly captivated the home support with five race wins between them. Kelly showed true Northern grit to bounce back from a couple of falls to look super smooth in two heat wins, whilst Leek after crashing in his first ride reeled off three very impressive victories. With the engine room of Wallinger, Edwards and Brooks also scoring good points all afternoon it was just the start new Team Manager Malcolm Vasey had hoped for.
Speaking afterwards he said “I was very pleased with the performance of everyone this afternoon, this was a good exercise that gave all our six riders valuable track time and has set us up for our three opening National Trophy fixtures next weekend.
We had a good crowd that really backed the lads and they hopefully enjoyed what they saw on the track today. I am sure there is plenty of improvement in this side and that will be apparent over the coming meetings”
