Mildenhall Speedway – proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery – feature on the world stage on Thursday, 26th. May when GB Long Track star and recent Fen Tigers signing, James Shanes appears in the British trio going for Gold in the FIM Long Track Of Nations, the world team cup of Speedway’s sister sport.

The event opens the 2022 international Long Track season , one in which James is competing in the World Championship Grand Prix series for a fifth year having been awarded one of the Wild Card slots after an injury hit 2021. James lines up alongside fellow GP riders Chris Harris and Zach Wajtknecht as GB take on teams from France, Denmark, Poland, Netherlands, Czechia, Finland and hosts and holders (winners last time it was staged in 2019) , Germany.  The event is being held in  in Rhineland on Father’s Day in Germany – and new father James will be aiming to be the ‘Daddy’ along with his colleagues as they aim to emulate the GB side (which also included Shanes) who triumphed in 2015.
