The new Mildenhall Speedway promotion have turned to the experience of Malcom Vasey with the ex-Stoke Potters Manager joining the Mildenhall Management team ahead of the 2019 season.
Vasey will take on the Team Management role potentially alongside current Team Manager Phil Kirk as the club continues to adapt its structure under their new ownership.
Speaking about the appointment Lee Chipchase said “Malcolm (Vasey) will be a great addition to our management team. He is very experienced, knowledgeable and has a great passion for speedway. It is fair to say no one in the sport knows more about the National League than he does and this will be extremely useful as we embark on our tenure at Mildenhall.
Phil (Kirk) is currently taking a break from the sport following a difficult personal year, and we will await his decision when he is ready in the New Year as to his future role within the club if he does decide to stay with us. It may be that he remains on the team management side or joins me on the general management/promotion side of the club. We do hope he will return though as he has considerable knowledge of the way the club runs and it will be a big positive to have him on board moving forward.
Mildenhall Speedway have so far announced five of their side for next season, Team Captain Danny Ayres, Jason Edwards, David Wallinger, Charlie Brooks and Sam Bebee and will be announcing their two reserves this evening (Wednesday).
