The Mildenhall ‘Fen Tigers’, proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery, raced to their biggest victory of the season and moved to the top of the National League table.
The massive 32 point victory was partly affected by the loss of two Berwick riders after Ben Rathbone lifted at the start of heat three crashing into the first bend air fence with his partner Luke Crang, both riders unable to take any further part in the meeting. But that said it was clear from the off the Fen Tigers wanted this win and led by the immaculate Jason Edwards the result was never in doubt. Edwards stylishly raced to an 18 point maximum, getting with a second of the track record in his opening ride. Well supported by the excellent Sam Bebee excelling at reserve and Jordan Jenkins who scored 11 each, and Nathan Ablitt who scored 10. Elliot Kelly had two paid winds and as the Fen Tigers recorded just two last places all afternoon.
This result leaves the Fen Tigers watching closely the performances of Kent over the coming weeks before they travel there on Tuesday 19th October. The Fen Tigers were due to be at Armadale on Friday but that meeting has been postponed due to Edinburgh being in the Championship play offs, a new date has yet to be announced.
