In a pulsating afternoon of speedway, the Mildenhall ‘Fen Tigers’, proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery just got home in a last heat decider against a battling Belle Vue side.

They were led from the front by the immaculate Jordan Jenkins who recorded a paid 18 maximum including a memorable heat fifteen match winning victory over the excellent Harry McGurk. Without Jason Edwards and with ex Fen Tiger Connor Coles finding himself at reserve for the visitors this looking a potential banana skin for the Suffolk based team but all six Fen Tigers battled hard to give the fans the result they wanted. These days happiness is 46-44!

The meeting got off to a fine start with new Number one Luke Ruddick and captain Jenkins combining for an impressive 5-1 in heat one. But with Coles being able to have up to seven rides from reserve it was difficult for the Fen Tigers to dominate. With Jack Smith and McGurk also impressive the Colts had more heat winners than the home side, but solid support for Jenkins from a revitalised Elliot Kelly, improving Luke Muff plus the excellent Sam Hagon riding his first meeting in the main body saw the Fen Tigers home.

After the meeting Team Manager Malcolm Vasey said “If there is more exciting speedway than at Mildenhall just now I’d like to know where it is! Both sides were a credit to the sport today and the National League. There was some great racing with our captain Jordan Jenkins leading the way with a wonderful performance. Jordan has really stepped up to the plate now and is a captain on and off the track. His race against Harry McGurk in heat fifteen was worth the entrance alone in my opinion. Both riders deserve immense credit for a wonderful race.

It was great to hear the cheer from our supporters as Jordan passed the line in front to secure the win”
