The Mildenhall Fen Tigers, proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery, welcome the Kent Royals this Sunday (first race 3pm) as they look to finally get their home league campaign underway. With the weather finally looking positive it is all systems go for the speedway starved fans and riders.

It certainly hasn’t been a quite week for the Suffolk club as injury, illness, medical cover issues and fixture changes have meant another eventful week. Thankfully all issues have been dealt with and the positive news concerning Captain Jordan Jenkins has lifted the whole club.

With Eastbourne moving their 11th July fixture back a week we are again without Jason Edwards and welcome ‘back home’ fans favourite Connor Coles as guest for Edwards.

The Royals will be difficult opponents with the powerhouse duo of ex Mildenhall favourite Ryan Kinsley and Dan Gilkes supported by the flying reserve Jake Mulford who recently posted a paid 21 point maximum at Belle Vue.

Looking ahead Team Manager Malcolm Vasey said: “This has been a very difficult few days for the club, but that is speedway and we go into Sunday very positive. This should be an excellent advert for National League speedway and with no speedway taking place locally this week hopefully fans will flock to Mildenhall stadium on Sunday.

As we have had to declare our team on Tuesday and at that time Jordan’s situation was not fully known our team will line up in a rather different format than usual, but I feel strongly that this is the best way to deal with the situation we were in at the time.

Hopefully Jordan is fine after Friday’s British U21 Final and the club sends Jordan, Sam, Jason and Elliot our very best wishes for Friday’s big meeting.

There is no doubt this will be a tight meeting and as always our loyal and vocal support will have a big part to play”
